Q: Zocor, can I cut the tablet in half?
I heard you should not cut statin tablets in half. The thing is I have been prescribed a 20mg tablet of Zocor per day. If I bought the 40mg tablet and split it in two it would work out cheaper. Can I do that or do I risk not getting the correct dosage. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thank you all for answering so promptly. You have set my mind at rest. I shall split the 40mg and save myself a packet. (It works out to one third the price of buying 20mgs – now thats a saving alright.)
A: Yes, you can cut it in two. You need to get a professional pill cutter, however. ( it will cut it almost clean).
This is advice from, my pharmacist and my doctor, both of who say it is fine to cut Zocor. And , you’re right, you will save money,
The generic of Zocar, Simvastatin, is even less expensive.
Q: Does lexapro cause weak or pain in legs or arms? Mine are killing me.?
On 10mg 1x a day. My legs hurt and ache so bad. I am only 45 female. Not too much over weight, have strong legs, bought New Balance shoes, but they ache so bad. I have to keep sitting down. And my arms from elbows to wrists ache, where I can’t carry things. And I get really tired, fatigue where I need a nap. I stopped Zocor 40mg this week. Going to start Omega 3 to replace the Zocor. Whey do my legs hurt? Is it Multiple Sclorosis? or what can it be? also on 1/2 Klonipin am & pm. Please help. I’ve had this for a few years now, had dopplers done on my legs about 3 yrs. ago, found nothing & started the Lexapro up again in June. Thanks you so much!
A: Wow this is a good one.
For this I would say first see family dr. have routine tests done.
From there he can do more advanced testing via spinal tap and spinal fluid has a big history of what is going on inside you.
If you took lexapro and began having this pain then stopped the med and the pain stopped you would know it was an adverse reaction to the med. But you said -from what I read you had pain off of Lexapro.
Go see your Dr. call ahead and ask him about doing some blood work. While you are there tell him your other fear of MS and could he test you for that. At least testing can show you right now what you don’t have and you will be amazed to see what pain stress can cause inside your body.
You keep me posted
Stay strong mentally and remember you get weak from worry and fear and you can actually increase your pain.
See your doc and start testing ok????
Let me know
